I was reminded of a beautiful scripture from Acts 2:42, this week.
So many chase after the fires of revival but let’s look at what those who witness the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost did.
They had seen fire fall as they prayed, they spoke in various tongues, they experienced the most dramatic encounter in the New Testament.
What did they do?
They didn’t chase fire!
They devoted themselves to one another and to four things,
*the apostles teaching,
*fellowship,
*the breaking of bread,
*prayer.
I love the word ‘devoted’, meaning, ‘to be extremely loving, loyal and dedicated to a person, cause or activity. It implies a steadfast commitment and placing a strong priority or focus on what you are devoted to.’
If we are devoted one to the other, then our heart will value what we treasure. You will love one another as Christ commanded you to do.”Where you deposit your treasure that is where your thoughts will turn to and your heart will long to be there also.” (Luke 12:34) In all your relationships and all you do and say, always do it from the pure motive of love. Perfect love casts out all fear so you can walk in love’s perfection.
