The Tide Turns

The veil of early morn lifts over the battle field. The stealth fighter planes, sleek and well camouflaged, have not rested in the still of the night. They come in waves, wave after wave they never stop. They continue to bomb the enemy day and night. Never ceasing! Never resting. For such are the numbers of brave hearts willing to take out the enemy in the final battle. The enemy is held up in the mountains, driven there by relentless fighting of God’s warrior hearts. The enemy hides in caves in the mountainous terrain. The bombers approach the caves from all directions and quickly pull up so as not to crash into the mountain or attract enemy fire. The enemy doesn’t know where they are coming from and has no time to pull back and reposition. Such is the impact the fighters are having. The enemy experiences being pinned down and relentlessly assaulted, for the tide is turning.

These are the intercessors. Some have been absent and in hiding, for the onslaught against them has been so intense but now they return and with greater numbers and impact than ever before. They know their leader, for He is their Warrior God and they know the power they have over the enemy. They are relentless in their attack. They will never give up. No fear! Warrior God casts out all fear with His weapons of LOVE.

The intercessors pound the enemy with continual, powerful prayer, day and night. Day after day and night after night it goes on. They now see the impact they are having. No longer is hope deferred for here it is played out. For all that God’s people have endured from enemy attacks, they, with their God, now laugh at the enemy. The tide has indeed turned.

They pause, setting guard over the land troops. They cover the advancing warriors with much prayer. The warriors push in to mop up the mess. They are led by the prophets and the apostles who hear directly from the commander-n-chief the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. They are the snippers, assisted by the intercessors as the enemy shows its hand.

Every warrior fights with great courage and will fight to the death if that is required by their commander for they know Him and love Him and have entrusted their lives to Him. Some will be wounded. Enter the healers for they will come to pull them back from the frontline and minister to their wounds. Sometimes the prophets will be healers and the foot soldiers will be intercessors for they are all one and God gives gifts to all His warriors.
Always on the battlefield, there is celebration, for the victory was won long ago by the commander. There is joy on the battlefield. There is dancing and worship and much praise for the exploits of the commander and His fearless warriors. They are all one for their commander first shed His blood and gave His life so that each and every one of them could live forever. They celebrate to remind the enemy that He is defeated and that they now trample him and his cohorts under their feet.

Psalm 144:1 “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.”

2 Corinthians 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”
