Intercessors Return to the Wall

They’ve been missing in action, hidden away in caves. The onslaught has been so great against them that they have needed to find a place of safety and rest but they’re back! They know the urgency of the hour!

They marry the priestly role of holding the needs of the people before God with the prophetic role of leaning into God’s heart for the people. The intercessors speaks into being that which is not, the prophet sees that which is yet to be.

Intercessors take hold of God’s will and refuse to let go until His will comes to pass. Intercession is warfare, the key to God’s battleplan for our lives. It is prayer that takes place in the spiritual realms where the battle for our own lives, for our families, for our friends and our nation is won or lost. Such a high calling and huge responsibility.

Intercessors, fear not! We have an unstoppable God and together we are a mighty unstoppable army. “Arise and shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

Intercession is a very serious matter and requires spiritual weapons. These weapons have divine power to demolish strong holds. They take captive all thoughts and the voices of fear, to make them obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10: 4-5) They recognise that Jesus is in control and rules over all forces, authorities, powers and rulers. They move into Jesus who is their armour for battle- helmet of salvation, breast plate of righteousness, shield of faith, belt of truth, gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6) When specific strongholds are revealed, the intercessors step into their authority, in the name of Jesus and take down those strong holds. God’s Spirit is more powerful than any spirits in the world. (1 John 4:4) Intercessors know they are never alone for Jesus is always interceding on their behave. (Hebrews 7:25)

They never give up. This type of prayer endures all setbacks and overcomes every obstacle. They keep on knocking, keep on asking, keep on seeking until their persistence brings forth a spiritual harvest like none ever seen. They intercede for the nations and bring healing to their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) They may experience travail and birthing similar to natural birthing for they are bringing into being a new move of God. It can look messy and loud.

Prayer warriors are the most frightening, powerful, demon-chasing, world-moving beings on the face of the earth. They are co-workers with God. They are making history with the greatest power on earth- PRAYER!
